No, this was a cross done in spring 2001 and put in the freezer in envelopes
but then taken out (because I was INTENDING) to pot them up in
November...ended up leaving them out in the laundry room until March when
they were actually potted. I wasn't thinking this was a great cross so if
nothing happened so what (a sacrifice cross I guess you could call it). So
that's a weird array of factors to consider. The temps out on that porch
(no heat or ac) were likely to be pretty warm and that was before they were
potted. After potting I just left them outside in semi shade exposed to
whatever weather we were having.
Now that I think about it, that freezing then thawing then warmer weather
should've mildew/molded them a bit? Hmmm. This is not a studied effort
as you can tell, just kinda did whatever I had time to do. And there are
MANY more seeds to be potted this November from crosses back to 1999. I
only did one this year because bloom was so poor and I still have so many
seeds to pot up. The cruel whatever treatment should only yeild the tougher
ones I think ( a page out of your book!).
The adventure continues...
