Chad (et al.):

I'm in a 9b soCal zone, and have ordered directly from Barry the past two
years. He ships in February, about 5 months early, yet 5 out of 10 have
bloomed the same year I received them, and only 1 of 7 has failed to bloom
well after its first "winter" (I know, we're talking southerrn California
here) in my garden. So at least in my limited experience, acclimatization
has not been a significant problem. In fact, Blyth iris have never done so
well for me in the past.
Assuming you like brown flowers, you should enjoy that Touch Of Mahogany.
And I'll emphatically second the description of "huge healthy rhizomes" from
Ghio, similar from Keppel.
