Hi Kelly,

I think the just the oppposite of Walter's comments.  Especially since you
live in Iowa and most likely are working with some dormancy in your
daylilies.  Placing your seed in the frig for six week will increase you
germination rate.  If you only worked with evergreen cultivars  then you
could get away without the chilling.

I live in central North Carolina and always place all my seed in frig for at
least six weeks.
