Decided that the  pots these came from would be as near a 'control' as I was 
going to find.  All pots/crosses had small seedlings returned for further 
growth.  The seedlings from this cross also have the largest seedlings in the 
pots!  

Either the earlier planting (10 days at most) made a BIG difference, or, I 
have one monster cross on my hands!  I choose to believe the latter.  Still not 
scientific, but it works for me.  Anyway, I'm going to quit worrying about it 
for a few weeks.
