Hi Dave,

We always avoided herbicides because of the bad results you listed, however 
we are no longer physically able to keep up with weeding and are trying Treflan 
with fairly good results in our public display garden.  The only problem is 
that it doesn't prevent perennial weeds that plague us such as bindweed, nut 
sedge, horsetail and Canadian thistle.  We may have to abandon some parts of our 
home garden because the irises are being engulfed in these weeds.
