Hi Edmonton Gang and all  :-),

It was great to meet you at the lily show!  What a great gang we had.  Sorry
to have missed you Shauna!!!  I hope you are feeling better.

We had talked about the database for the irises and one of these days I will
make one for lilies.  But if someone has a book from an expert so I can get
all the terminology, variety, and details etc.  This will start me off.
Hopefully Ed from Manitoba can help me on that one, then maybe by Christmas
or next summer I may have a beta version for you.

Here are the necessary links in order that you can use the database if you
wish to use the Irises Version 2.3.zip.  Comments and suggestions are more
than welcome, but keep in mind that I've tried to fit in everyone's
suggestions and I can't develop it only for one person.  I've used Bill
Shear's Iris book as a guide to all the proper classes and with certain
terminology.  Some individuals would like seedlings in a database like this,
but then you can make a copy of it and simply call folder iris seedlings and
you can have the same classifications and rip through number etc. to one's
hearts delight.  This is not made for a huge commercial operation, but
rather for an irisarian.  Considering this is free, I think it is the best
free iris database out there.  The search facility is fabulous and I have
received many grateful letters and positive comments.

You must have the zip utility in order unzip the files because it would take
forever to upload and download as is.  This is why I had to condense it.
You can use the evaluation version of winzip but for those that don't have
money for shareware here is a link to a freeware version of a zip/unzip
program.

The second link is to the different little databases I've made.  By far I've
the most work went into the Irises Version 2.3.zip.  I do a yearly update
but this year with all the renos, it will have to wait till fall.
