Re: HYB:Pink:out crosses

It does take four doses of pink (2 from each parent) to get pink <but>
the pink may be hidden by something else (murky mix, bronze, other?) or
not expressed (yellow/pink inhibitor or missing stuff I don't quite
understand).

< If I cross any color x pink, I will not get pink back. >

Not true. I've gotten pink by crossing two non-pinks, tho one probably
has some pink in it.

I've gotten
(1) pink and pink bicolors from crosses of bronze (NOID <yet>) and
pink?(also NOID - looks like DISCRETION); The DISCRETION NOID looked
pinkish, but it died long before I started extracting pigments, so I
don't know for sure if it was pink or just purple that looked pink
(light rose).

The bronze NOID is sort of brown, I guess. Only two seedlings survived
from that cross - one pink, the other pink/rose. Very ugly, terrible
foliage, but persistant.

(2) pink from a cross of a rosy purple (NO pink <or> yellow pigment
present) amoena with a muddy yellow seedling.
The amoena has one pink parent (C SONG) and one white parent (IMM). The
muddy yellow seedling is a PINK FORMAL bee baby (PFb1).

I don't seem to have a photo of PFb1 (it is pretty ugly - the cross was
just playing around), but will post one a similar muddy color from
another PINK FORMAL cross.

I don't have any idea what the ratios would be - maybe Neil will be
feeling well enough to chime in. Or Chuck will tear himself away from
pigment extractions and his new toy.
