As a retired printer I have had a lot of experence with the Pantone charts. The color is matched with a spectrometer when they are made. Price about $100. Much more accurate than by hand. I have heard the RHS are done buy hand. Matching color on a piece of paper to a live petal is very difficult. I have seedlings that change color when I move them across the yard. How would you allow for that.
Panatone charts have to be replaced every year or two. Both type charts will fade when light shines on them. Sunlight is the worst. It will cause fading in just a few hours. The more you use it the more it will fade.

I did a bit of research and found the RHS Colour Chart for 135 English
pounds on their site (under publications). At the current exchange rate,
that would equal 234.807 USD.
I was wondering, during this reading of the thread, if the Pantone colors
compare at all with the RHS colors. Pantone colors are widely used in
printing and you can specify your colors by the Pantone number when sending
in a job to be printed. You can even get software to calibrate you monitor
to show the colors according to the Pantone system.
