Re: MTB: I. Pallida Variegata

Linda,

ARGENTEA has the dainty character of an MTB, but PALLIDA VARIEGATA was correctly classified as a TB in the 1939 AIS Checklist, at least according to its performance here. I have grown PV for nearly 20 years, and over that time it has bloomed with stalks at heights varying between 31 and 37 inches, but never once in the median height range. The flower, too, is equal in size to those of many other historic TBs.

Judy B. - There is also I. PALLIDA ARGENTEA - foliage has white variegation, rather than cream, and with a similar (if not exactly the same) flower.
