Linda, I apply lime more here than I did in Alvaton. Did not this spring
due to health problems.

It's hard to determine what is limiting rebloom this year. It could be any
one factor or a combination of all.

1) Left over effects from the spring freeze.
2) Lack of cool temperatures at night. (Clearly, from Mike's reports, it's
NOT day time highs.)
3) Lack of water. One water bill of near $100 was enough. Allowing rebloom
cultivars to go dormant after spring bloom is said to turn off rebloom.
Most were not watered due to the fear of rot.
4) Lime? Presence or absence.

Articles I've read do indicate that lime or the lack of lime can be the
determining factor in the survival of irises in our area. Other areas too. I've
not read any studies that give a definitive report on it's ability to
specifically turn rebloom on or off.

I've recent reports that my irises grow well in OK, but no reports from CA.
