Mike, you did report that Gilded Cream rebloomed rather reliably in your CA
garden. I believe it's the only report I've had of rebloom from GC. You
also have Returning Chameleon listed in your catalog. Returning Chameleon &
Bridge In Time both come from Immortality as the pollen parent. I've not had a
report on any others.
Star Gate is Feed Back x Violet Miracle. I've had reports of rebloom from
VA, southeastern TN (both Linda and Claire) and OK. Received report of 3
stalks on SG when they started digging the convention irises earlier in the
month. It was my second choice from the cross. My favorite one bloomed out. It
had deeper color with no zonal spot. Although SG is very dark when it
blooms in a cool spring or fall.
Star Gate gives a fairly high percentage of rebloomers here. I'm anxious to
see what I get with the Star Gate X Matrix cross. But then I'm always
anxious to see any seedling bloom! Will I get plicatas? Will I get a high
percent of zonals? Tune in next year!
When crossed on 1505-2 (((Silverado x Immortality) x (Bridge In Time x (Feed
Back x Titan's Glory))) it gave mainly pale blue seedlings and a few mid
purple. 57 planted. Several rebloomers. I could have saved half a dozen, but
space & energy are limited. One, which doesn't rebloom for me, has forever
won a spot in my garden. Pale blue with blue or lavender beards. In
addition, I've lined out my favorite rebloomer from the cross. Did not save any of
the purple rebloomers.
The Santa Rosa Iris Society has requested irises for the 2009 Spring
Regional. If the body and spirit are willing, I'll send a box of rhizomes next
month.
