Earlier this morning, I discovered stalks on a couple of the seedlings from 1907. One is 1907-02re which has rebloomed before, also in July. It's a plicata. I don't remember what the other one looks like. Will have to wait to see it bloom. Cross is BLATANT X ALL REVVED UP. It's produced lavender selfs, plicatas, bi-tones and white with yellow trim. Yellow standards over white falls with yellow rims. One white glaciata that bloomed in Sept one year.
These stalks are quite tall so this is not a result of the cool spell we're currently enjoying. Rain was plentiful until 10-14 days ago. Growth did not slow down, despite the fact that I'd not fertilized the bed in a couple of years. We're due another rain over the week-end.
Now, I'm hoping there are stalks in the newer beds! Betty W.Zone 6 . . .
