HYB:MTB:Question

I've just harvested seed from WELCH'S REWARD X CONSUMMATION. I once had a large collection of MTB's but these are the only two I currently grow. I've long wanted an MTB with the height and multiple branching of WR and the color of CONSUMMATION. They are both diploids?
Last spring, I finally made the cross. Not one seed sprouted this spring.
I've just collected another 37 seed. Before I plant them, I'd like to know what I did wrong last year. 

Anyone have suggestions?
