Thanks Francelle.ROMANTIC EVENING did produce some strong & nicely colored children here, but didn't help form much, if any. Except with HELEN COLLINGWOOD - some nice babies there ;-). And talk about beautiful branching! If branching does turn out to be a real problem, I guess I could work that line some more.
Only one cross with RE taken another generation so far (with IMM, DUSKY GRAPE, an unknown extremely freeze tolerant redblack) - not very strong - only 4 of the 9 lined out this spring have survived, & they aren't growing very well.
I think maybe you are thinking of PAGAN PINK, not PAGAN DANCE? PD is a Blyth intro, registered as a rebloomer - velvety black purple falls, lighter standards and wide rim on falls.
