I never met Mr. Mertzweiller, but I have admired him for years. There is a
very fine article on him, with some lovely photographs, including a splendid
one of him working with his plants in the field, in the April, 1993 issue of
American Horticulturalist magazine. It is worth a trip to the library to read
it.
