Easiest way is to submerge the entire hose in the water so all the air
is evacuated. Then, holding one end closed with your finger, drag it to
a place that is lower than the surface level of the pond (leaving the
other end submerged in the pond of course). Take your finger off the
hose and water should start flowing. It will continue to flow as long as
the end is lower than the surface of the pond. The greater the height
differential, the faster the flow rate.
