The way we siphoned all the grimy water out of our "dead" spa before
ripping it out and replacing it with my flower garden was this:

We had a hose disconnected from any water faucet. We put one end in the
spa (actually I did, no one else would go near that festering bacteria
laden mosquito haven), and the other end at the far side of the yard,
which is quite a bit lower than the spa. (The water in the spa was
below ground level.) Then, I took a hose connected to a spigot,
turned it on so that water was gushing out at a good clip, and, held
this and the other hose together UNDER THE SURFACE of the water until
water came o`ut the far end of the other hose. Then, I just let it go,
turned off the water, and the spa siphoned itself.

If you can understand that, you deserve a gold medal. If you can't,
that's okay, neither can I!
