Re: OT--GLASSWARE


	We have been collecting Iris & Herringbone for much longer than we've had
iris. 30 yr Vs 8 yr. We are into the clear pattern and our daughter's
service is the "iridescent" , referred to as orange, carnival, etc. These
are the only two colors produced in this particular pattern.  Availability
of depression glass varies widely according to region and even localities
within regions. The southeast seems particularly blessed, due to retirement
moves, estate liquidations, etc. of people who moved to the south from the
mid-west. Out west here (MT) glass is scarce and pricey. I suppose a lot of
it has to do with where promotions took place ( glass came in soap boxes,
with gas coupons, with jelly in it, and on and on ), and what people chose
to take with them when they moved. Also what got broken along the way.
Travel to the west was rough. I'm rambling on again, so if anybody wants to
gab or question about  "I & H" or any dep. glass (we've got tons of it ,
