I just checked with our bank and not only are you CORRECT, but guess
what--if AIS tries to cash the check after its' 6 months date--the check
will come back marked "stale-dated" meaning it is past the 6 months
deadline.
AND----YOU will get charged for a returned check by your bank--at least
that's what MY bank told me and I'm sure most banks are the same. So
all of us whose checks haven't been cashed are going to look at a charge
because AIS is so inefficient in cashing checks!!
AND---you can bet that if my bank charges me because AIS didn't attempt
to cash the check within the 6 month limit, I will be sending the bill
directly to AIS for reimbursement!!! Guaranteed!!!
