My 2 cents worth on this subject...iris grown in my garden and used to
this climate do not seem to mind being planted in the hot, dry part of
the summer. (Normally we have temps @ 90 - 100 from July through August
and no rain in July with a little starting late in August.) However,
iris coming in from cooler, MOISTER, areas have quite often turned into
baked potatos when planted at this time of the year. My suggestion and
what I do is let the new to you rz dry out a little bit and then when
you do plant them water them religiously until they seem to settle or
the temps cool.
