No, it wasn't changed.  Princess Beatrice predates the registration syste=

itself.  J. Marion Shull, a well-respected irisarian of the 20s, describe=

PRINCESS BEATRICE as superior form of DALMATICA and the '39 Checklist not=

that stock of the two had been mixed.  Today, DALMATICA is today consider=
ed
a synonym of I. pallida.  =


I'll leave it to the real experts like Mike Lowe to assess the odds that =
a
cultivar grown under the name of PRINCESS BEATRICE today is the same clon=

as that distribued by Barr almost 100 years ago....
