I think perhaps the most important place for the new information to
be posted is on the AIS website itself. John, perhaps you should contact
Scott Aitken (if you haven't already done so).

I would like to add my sincere thanks to Tom for creating the iris
list in the first place, and doing such a wonderful job as guardian for it.
In the past, I have welcomed his comments on the few occasions when there
have been minor disputes on our list. I think that anyone who holds an
office of responsibility finds there is a time when they have had enough.
This is one reason why many societies elect office-bearers for a certain
term only. I'm sure I speak for all of us in saying that we are sorry to
see you step down, Tom, but most appreciative of all you have done for us in
creating and maintaining the list. By doing so, you have brought us
together. The friendship and abundant knowledge shared on this list are
invaluable.
I would also like to thank John for doing a terrific job in keeping
as many of us as possible in contact, through his interim list, and by
giving us back a fully-functioning list. He was the only one to step
forward, with the knowledge and will to keep it going. Three cheers for John!
