Another mystery iris is blooming -- it is apparently a BB & it has perky
variegata blooms with creamy yellow standards & purple (not maroom, not
violet, but bright purple) falls with slight veining & a rim of yellow
around the outside. Beards are also yellow. There are a number of buds
per stalk (at least 5, sometimes more), branching is short & overall
height is roughly 22" to 26". My daughter was recruited to sniff this
flower & she reports if reminds her of roses.
Anybody want to take a stab at putting a name to this iris? Altho I
don't generally like variegatas that much, I think this one is a keeper.
It's proportions are very pleasing, the flower is slightly ruffled with
flaring falls & the color is terrific.
