HYB: TB seeds

From: dkramb@tso.cin.ix.net (Dennis Kramb)

Here's an update on my first attempt at hybridizing. As you may (or may
not) remember, I had a lousy bloom season followed by an even lousier
success rate at getting my crosses to take. The only cross that formed a
seed pod was MOTHER EARTH pollen on TRAITOR pod. After about 4-5 weeks the
seed pod accidentally got severed from the stalk by the guy that mows the
lawn.

I let the pod sit out for 8 more days and then opened up 1/3 of it
revealing four seeds that were about the size of peas and creamy white in
color. Today (four days later) I opened up the rest of the pod. 1/3 was
empty. The other 1/3 had four more creamy white seeds.

All the seeds were(will be) soaked in water for 24 hours before being
planted. Interestingly 7 of the 8 seeds sank, the other one floated.

Now, can anyone out there tell me whether the seeds' color, size, or the
fact that they sink, are any indication of maturity? Do you suspect
they'll germinate, or not?

Thanks.
