You probably do have a seed pod forming. Bumble bees are able to
polinate the TB's.  If you wish to harvest the seed, let the pod remain
on the stalk until it begins to turn light brown at the upper third. Or
if it begins to split open. Then remove the pod from the stalk. Take the
seeds out and let them dry up. We plant the dried and shriveled seed in
November in plastic 8" pots and place them outdoors for the winter.
Bearded iris seed need winter cold to break dormancy. The seedling them
emerge in the early spring.
