The Hardiness Zone Map at the address given by Linda Doffek shows me
as being in the southern part of USDA Zone 8b. The maps at the addresses
given by John I. Jones lists me as being in Zone 9.
To be truthful, I think these hills belong in a separate zoning
because some plants that are not supposed to survive as far south as Zone 9
can be found here as natives, while some plants that are not supposed to be
hardy north of Zone 9 can be found here too. However, some plants
designated with Zone 9 hardiness can freeze out here. So, I guess to be
safe, I will continue to use the Zone 8/9 designation.
