	CANDY CANE may be the cultivar to which this person refers.  It
was hybridized by Mr. Z. G. Benson of Wichita Falls about the time you
mentioned, was registered, distributed, but never officially introduced.
CC appeared in TX shows and would really 'knock 'em dead' back then.  It
is of the broken color pattern and preceded Alan Ensminger's work with
that pattern, which he called variegated.  I used to grow it and could
never get seed from it, and I don't think it shows in any parentages in
the Check Lists.

	Peggy Williams in Ft. Worth may still grow it, but I am not sure
if she still has her garden or not.
