After reading John's message there is nothing like feeling like an idiot!
:) Now I must thank you for the good laugh also Dennis! :) I have never
heard of "fake" viruses before, this is a new one on me.
Dennis, I have 4 Amigas besides the IBM's. The Amigas also have their
operating system on ROM's and I have had a virus on them in the past so that
is no protection. Do you have a hard drive on your Atari? How about a
floppy drive? Or maybe a modem? I'm not trying to worry you Dennis but the
ROM is no protection. If you ever share floppies with someone or download
anything you may get something you don't want. I have a few hundred
floppies for my Amigas and I had to go through each one, examine it and
clean it if it had the virus on it. I never did find out which floppy the
virus came in on but the virus would store itself in RAM and infect every
floppy I inserted. I found out about the virus when one of my floppies quit
working properly. Enough with the story, point made. I like my Amigas too
Dennis and they can outperform the IBM's in many ways even as old as they
are but they can still get sick!
