When does one start spraying--for any moth-type? My husband says that when it turns hot--then start spraying! But--we use 'sticky-traps' and when we see the first moth on the trap--then we start! Traps can be bought, but these usually use a pheromone--which 'calls' moths to the trees--so we use a substitute---yellow plastic pieces (cut from my dish-soap containers) with 'sticky' on them--which can be purchased from Nurseries ot catalogues--this has worked well for years--
We are digging our club garden for the sale Saturday and are noticing that most the SDB's seem to have grown taller than usual this year--several that are 12" are over 16"--is the same happening elsewhere? Could it be from our long wet spring? Since we are listed as 'high mountain desert' with most rainfall coming during thunder-boomers in July and August--this year with the early wet continuing so long many plants are acting differently--same as elsewhere?
Carryl in western Montana--where it is now hot!!!!!! and my new replants are getting sunburned!
