Sterling responds....
I figure three years is enough time for an iris to "prove it or move it"
There are so many new and old irises to see and If an iris doesn't
perform well, it is really hard to give it space in my tiny garden.
Also, in my zone 8, northwest climate I can grow all types of irises so
it makes the "tiny garden" situation doubly bad. I hear Texas is tough
weather to garden in...especially now with the tremendous heat you are
experiencing. But I couldn't imagine waiting longer than three years to
see a good iris clump. I guess I am very lucky to be planted here.
