Thought I would add my congrats to Anna Mae--Iremember seeing Frosted Cranberry and thinking--there is one that will win!  So glad it did!
Cannot say the same for Conjuration--here it grows almost four feet tall, whips around in the wind, and is a 'lazy Iris'--likes to lay on the ground most the time.  Yes, it is eye-catching, but other attributes have to be also considered when voting for the Dykes--and again--the one I voted for did not get it-- I also did not vote for Acoma--had a nice discussion with Tom McGee about it in Denver--he was our bus captain--and told him that Acoma really did not like it here--our soil is funny and makes some white/light blue combos look yuckie--very grayed and not appetizing--and other than we had two starts in our club garden three years ago, who are languishing and slowly fading away--I had seen it before this year in out of area gardens and it looked great--just does not do great here!
Siberians--the 'tets' do better here in our cold--not too much snow cover--winters--Ceaser's brother grows like a weed--throughs seeds all over the yard, has survived for over 20 years for me and still going strong--Coronation Anthem grows great--and three weeks after end of bloom, here comes along another few blooms--rebloomer?  or just a few slow buds?  Jeweled Crown does well--but does not grow too tall, High Standards really is a grower--blooms at the almost four foot height this year (liked our wetter than usual spring)  so have decided to only order 'tets' for our club garden which is in the middle of about three acres of lawn, gets the wind from all sides, does have a good watering system and lots of TLC but not as much as one's own yard

We now are having 93-98 daily, usual thunder boomers not here--so I think that anything which survives here this year will grow anywhere.

Can I grow Japanese here? Twould surely like to try--I go down to Portland and help judge their Japanese Show some years, and sure would like to try them--has anyone had any luck with them in colder areas like mine?  Thanks for any answers--and now off to replant the ones from our sale that I just had to have--good thing the Pea Vines are drying up so I will have some room for the new rhizomes
Any sure fire methods for getting rid of two raccoons who are terrorizing my yaed--they are wiping out 2-5 Dahlias a night and eating my Iris seed-pods.  Carryl in Western Montana
