I would not consider LADY FRIEND to be a typical "red" iris in either color
or pedigree. I grew it for a number of years and, as it bloomed here, it
was rather midway between a typical iris red and a purple - not a color
that I found particularly attractive, so eventually it made its way on to
my "attrition list" and out of my garden.
