Well,
Being another Aussie I've got to put my two cents worth in.....
Oh yeah....... for reference in case anyone out there is interested.... I
live around 8 hours drive from Jan (somewhere around 750km approximately?).
We have pretty similar climates but I'm not sure of soil comparisons. We
here in Canberra tend to have rather heavy clay that needs to be either
replaced or greatly built up with organic matter so that it doesn't bake
solid in Summer. Our weather extremes are around -8'C to 40'c-ish. I
thought some of you might be interested.
Anyhow....... back on to Lady Friend
I too am disappointed with Lady Friend and am thinking of getting rid of
it. I know others like it but to me it looks decidedly washed out or
faded. No intensity or depth to the colour at all. I have another couple
of "reds" that I'm growing now and I'm awaiting them to find out whether it
is just the nature of reds and they all have that colour appearance. For
reference.... is Court Marshall regarded as a red? As far as I know it is
that "sort" of colour. Might get around to buying "Warrior King" one of
these days too. Let me know what you think!!
