Those who like the color of Lady Friend may be interested to know that Joe
has 2 updated versions which he introduced this year and last. I was
fortunate enough to see both of these at the Messick Garden this Spring,
they are both very similar in having a very clean rose-claret (I think these
are the words that Joe uses ) color throughout. The thing I noticed there
was that VISIER (98) seemed a much stronger grower (many increases) than
PICANTE(97) which had only normal increase. Anyone else out there remember
seeing these ?
I think our club is going to put VISIER on our purchase list based on this
showing. Of course both of them have the form that one has come to expect
from a Ghio iris.
