I have to remember that you live in sunny California and I live
in the very short growing season of the New Hampshire White Mts.
and I 'trim' the roots but do not "cut off every root off of every
iris I planted" ......trimming does help when planting a few
hundred irises in a week-end. Now, if Aitken's and Keppel's irises
do not dry out sufficiently to plant this week-end, I will have to
plant the ones that I feel more secure with in the ground. The dry
ones from everywhere else. BTW, the rhizomes from Denver are in
fantastic shape.
