SPU: LA: Germination information?

Hello folks--

Does anyone out there have experience of information on
germinating spuria seeds? I planted quite a few last winter and left
them outside in the cold and rain to stratifyjust like other
bearded and beardless. To date, only one has germinated.

Since these are warm-climate irises, do they really need
a cold period? Will they germinate better as things heat up
for summer?

Ditto for Louisianas. I planted dried LA seeds, and I have heard these
should be p[lanted fresh before they dry out. These were from
SIGNA and some were from a local cross. Any ideas out there?

Thanks!
