English Dogwood is a common name for Philadelphus inodora. It obviously
is not a true Dogwood. True Dogwoods [Cornus florida] are native to this
area, but are not common. Philadelphus inodora is a non-invasive ornamental
exotic species. It looks very similar to the type of Mock Orange
Philadelphus common to the north, but this one has no scent--darn!
