James,
I so enjoyed your note. You should be a writer!
I have had no luck with saucers of beer attracting the slugs. I may have to
get lots of those pricey traps from gardeners supply. I have go-zillions
ruining just about everything in my garden, (they must multiply like
bunnies), prized Hostas, Iris, Cleome, Berginia, Caladiums, Ornamental Sweet
potato vine, etc.
We are in the middle of a 3 day rain event. The beer is getting very diluted
and the fungicide is being washed off everything that I sprayed.
I only have 3 soggy TB blooms left, :-(.
Each day I feel more depressed that they will soon be gone. I am hoping that
some of the rebloomers that we planted last year will come through in the
Fall.
The season passes much too fast. It reminds me of my daughters weddings, so
much planning, work and expense, and then it's over with just the photos to
recall the beauty of it all.
Sally, who may have to get a cat, too.
SE NY state.
