	I am a long-time member of iris-talk, having joined it when it was iris-l, and I am
sorry to learn that two long-time members have decided to resign.  
I really don't understand why.  And, here are two reasons:

	1. The traffic on the list has been extremely slow of late, like 
only fourteen messages today, June 26, 2000, as I write this at 6 
p.m. CDT.

	2. OT's are legitimate categories, and those who resigned from 
the list knew this when they joined.  Very few of the OT's have not 
concerned some part of the plant world...like the loropetalum or 
daylily threads of today.  The only comletely OT thread I can think 
of lately concerned the one on the Model-T; none of the above do I 
consider 'junk.'  I learned something from every one of these. And, I 
bet all of us are guilty of an OT or two during our time on the list, 
even those who resigned.

	If a person has a problem with the OT's, I suggest they scan 
their entire mail file and immediately mark those OT's as delete 
files and never open them to begin with.  Of course, mail programs 
vary, so I don't know how others kill files they don't want to read.

	Simply said, hit delete on OT's if they bother you.

	Let the list roll on!
