This would be a whole lot easier if the list was set up so that one could
reply either to the list or to people individually. I'm on several lists
like that, and it sure does help reduce off topic list traffic. Actually for
one list (larger and more active than this one), the default is to reply to
the individual. Then if on-topic information is received, a summary is
posted to the list. I'm not suggesting that here, but it would be nice if we
could chose whether to reply to everyone or just to the person who asked the
question without going into contortions about it.
