Interesting to read your story John, and great to know I wasn't the only
idiot who destroyed her first iris by overwatering.
I WAS hoping for a bunch of Dykes winners out of this years seedlings, but
you have destroyed any hopes for me :-)
Ah well, I am looking forward to seeing those 'dogs' and ordinary flowers I
have produced, and maybe - just maybe - one or two special ones, to make it
all worth while.
This years seedlings are pushing up strongly. I have about 70 so far, from
1400 or so seed, and it's mid winter here. I expect may more in spring. I
expect they will need to be transplanted before we move house, so they will
have to share crowded accomodation in white polystyrene fruit boxes until
the shift.
Cheers, Jan Clark, in Australia
