Re: AIS: successful affiliates

Linda,
I too am concerned when this happens. We've had one club fold together
into another club, and another club disbanding because they have so few
members. I wouldn't feel so bad if we had a way to encourage some new
clubs to form. Not only are we all interested in promoting iris, we must
also be interested in promoting networking; clubs are people and developing
friendships is what can hold clubs together and expand. Local publicity is
a must, because without it we will dwindle away. Maybe some of us can
tell all of us if their local clubs have a membership chairman, and what
good ideas and activities have been promoted by their membership chairs? I
know I could sure use more good ideas!
At my local club, our summer potluck/member's sale, our Sept. BBQ, and
our Dec. holiday meeting seem to draw the most attendance. (notice all
include good food?)
