Sandra,
I live in southern Missouri. We live in the Ozark Mountains. We live in zone 5. We have the Conservation Garden for the DIS. The MDB'S have to have some cold winter to bloom the following Spring. We get down below zero 4 or 5 days a winter. In the garden we have close to 250 different varieties and about 75 species that MDB'S come from. They come from all over of the world. They come from France, England, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, Crete, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.

Hello:
Does anyone have information on how cold it need to get in your garden in
order for MDB's to bloom? I have alway thought that they need to go through
a period of frost but I've been reading in some of my books and they say
they will do well in "temperate' climates. It gets plenty cold were I live
but I would like to hear from other who may live more south.
Thanks, much
Sandra
