CULT: COPPER CYMBAL (was TBs exceeding expectations)

Walter,

It's a marvel how some iris perform differently under different conditions
while others seem to have fixed colors no matter where they are grown or
under what conditions.  Why is that, do you know?  Do different color genes
carry different properties?  COPPER CYMBAL fit neatly into the copper class
(more new penny than one that's been in circulation) and didn't noticeably
fade here.  I don't think anyone would have tagged it with a chocolate shade
here unless they were referring to a red velvet cake in a lighter color
maybe (obviously time for a food break here).  I tend to think our sun
bleaches things worse than in areas with less harsh sunlight, but maybe that
is not necessarily the case.  What else would cause them to fade, I wonder?
Or just change shades for that matter?  There are several here that it only
took moving for them to bloom in a different color.  THORNBIRD probably the
best known, but RUSTY MAGNIFICENCE is in its third location and each one has
resulted in a different shade of color.  None particularly brown toned and
it apparently does that in other locales.
