I'm not too enamored of using tobacco juice or its residue. Sure - the
nicotine present would be most effective - BUT - back in the deep, dark past
I read somewhere or was told that it could lead to the transmission of
tobacco mosaic virus in the iris. I have seen what was purported to be the
TMV and while it wasn't totally unsightly - it did detract from the
appearance of the leaves. I have no knowledge of what (if anything) the TMV
does to the longevity of the plant.
Any comments from our resident scientists????
