CULT: Pyrethrum instead of tobacco

Have any of you tried pyrethrum juice from painted daisies?  I haven't, but I grow a few painted daisies (They look terrific with yellow iris) and they always need to be cut back anyway shortly before grasshoppers become a problem here.  It would be a neat solution if it works.   

Also, has anyone ever heard of an 'old' iris called Sutter's Gold?  My Mom, in her eighties, was sad that hers had apparently died out.  Can find nothing on HIPS, but she seemed so sure of the name...If anybody has it, maybe we could trade?
