Re: TB To Laurie and Len

Laurie:

I understand your pangs of regret when you look
through those catalogs of modern TBs... but then I
don't think you'll go wrong with the heritage iris.

I've noticed something curious about the old timers...
they always seem to be more ranslucent than moderns.
Wonder why? Colors often still deep but silken. I
rather like that quality better.

I'll put in another plug for Quaker Lady... she isn't
tall be she smells of orange zest and is a quite nice
mottled pink/beige two tone. Oh, and excellent
increase & bud count. Course, I'm in zone 8, but
still....

And to Len:
Just where are you? The Alvord Desert? Hanging off a
cliff in Hell's Canyon? Yeesh, you guys on the east
side get it from both barrells; at least Laurie
doesn't have to deal with the heat you get!

I think were going to have to nominate you for an
award; we'll title it the "Grower of iris in the most
adverse/insane conditions."

Or is someone in Needles or Nome growing iris?
