John and everyone,
I guess I will get flamed for this message but there is no disrespect or
controversy intended.
I understand the use of the subject tags and see how they can be helpful.
However, to make them mandatory and make people feel unwelcome to
participate in this forum if they are not used seems a bit uppity and
snobbish to me. I am guilty (oh my!!) of sometimes using the tags and
sometimes not using the tags. I have also felt the wrath of the listowner
with his friendly reminders that tags should be used.
I believe that if the subject line contains a good description of the
content of the message then that should be allowed without making anyone
feel that they should not participate in this group. For example, the
subject line "Garden Labels" seems pretty clear to me and the lack of
subject tags in this message seems extremely trivial. Isn't the message
more important than the subject of the message? and shouldn't participation
be encouraged over the constant admonishment of using subject tags
appropriately.
I am now hiding behind a flame retardant iris.
