I've really enjoyed reading the different lists that have been
posted. I'm still very new to irises and have only seen a fraction
of the cultivars out there, so I'd really love all of your imput on
the best bicolors (Bitone plicatas too)for form, branching,
substance and hardiness. I am working on hybridizing reblooming
bicolors and since that will be a long process, I would like to
start with the best once blooming bicolors out there.
My favorites so far are:
Blast (Hager) IB
Double Scoop (Ghio)
Costa Rica (Ghio)
Vigilante
Capricious (Keppel)
I'm getting a late thrill here, a new Blyth introduction, Cafe Bleu
is putting up a stalk for me. It is a rebloomer in Australia, and
this is a good sign that it might rebloom in colder zones too.
Thanks!

don't break them off before they're ready
