The LMS thread (no reference to the Bulldog fan from the Old South) might have
led some of us, me included, to PBDS, post bloom depression syndrome. It's really
bad out there when the daylilies, Mexican petunia, lantana (oh, I found a solid white
one) etc. take over and our precious iris bloom is gone except for a scattered
rebloomer or too. All sorts of things happen, and you may have it until blooms
return.
You know the symptons; what about the anti-dote?
Catalogs and more catalogs and a healthy check-book. Look at those
catalogs and order away. Think about the new beds and how the bloom
will be next year.
Pictures on the net. Even go to eBay and look at those unknowns
people are are bidding on. Whew!
Get a new iris book.
Go to a club iris meeting or sale and commiserate with fellow travelers.
Put tongue in cheek or bite tongue until PBDS goes away.
Pull weeds.
